Even greatest saints like Swami Vivekananda and Tyagraja have used music as a medium to spread the word of equality, peace and harmony. Hence it was relevant to have the Consulate of the United States of America on board supporting this cause and spread the message of love and harmony.
“As a performing artist I have been exposed to several forms of music and had the good fortune of experiencing some of the greatest festivals. I felt the need to create a festival which will showcase some of the foremost musicians of fusion brand, making it possible for the musicians and music lovers of the city to experience it, learn and get ideas”, said Tanmoy Bose, the man behind the fête. He further added “I also feel the need for musicians and music lovers to be aware of their responsibilities towards society and Kolkata Fusion fiesta became the ultimate platform to get started with this awareness campaign. Getting associated with the U.S. Consulate seemed apt as American Centre and I have been outspoken about the issues which are poignant, sensitive and need a voice.
